Housing
  • "Change existing laws to remove subjective and arbitrary zoning standards and legalize housing that builds communities - including accessory dwelling units, duplexes and other "missing middle" units that fit into existing neighborhoods

  • Repeal Michigan's prohibition on rent stabilization so that policies can be enacted to limit rent increases to predictable and manageable amounts."

  • Work to remove statewide ban on rent control
  • Zoning reform to remove red tape for building
  • Change income thresholds to qualify for housing programs
  • Homeowner's insurance premium regulation
  • Remove barriers for approval to rent from private landlords

"The dream of home ownership is out of reach for too many Michiganders. Let’s build affordable housing, modernize zoning, and drive down rents, so people build financial security and generational wealth. "

Statewide Funded Childcare Website focuses on elementary education.

We're working hard in Michigan to provide funded Preschool for All for four-year-olds through programs like Kent ISD Great Start to Readiness and Head Start.

We can expand this work into free universal care for all ages and abilities, so that families can thrive.

Lack of access to quality childcare that serves the needs of all children, means a disproportionate number of caregivers are not able to enter the workforce.

Our childcare providers deserve fair wages, access to continuing education, and financial support to operate.

There must also be mandated inclusions for children who need medical or assisted supportive environments for their care.

"Free Childcare. Raising a family has never been more expensive. Parents need free, high-quality childcare near where they live and work so they don’t have to choose between raising kids and building careers.

Pre-K for All and World-Class Education.

Every four-year-old should have access to public, high-quality, local pre-K so they arrive at kindergarten ready to learn. Let’s prepare our kids for future success with the best teachers at state-of-the-art schools."
